Structural CAD Technician
We are looking for a full-time structural CAD technician to join our team at our Burnaby office. The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of structural drawings in AutoCAD and related technical tasks for our building projects. The work will be performed under the supervision of the project engineers and senior draftspersons. Other duties will include tasks related to project delivery and service to clients.
Starting salary is $62,000/year and will be based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical/dental allowance.
Job Responsibilities
Production of structural drawings using AutoCAD and Revit Shop drawing reviews Correspondence with field staff, clients, architects and contractors
Requirements
Certificate or Diploma as an Applied Science Technician and/or CAD drafting. Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience working in a structural engineering consulting firm in a related capacity. Familiar with basic drafting standards for wood frame, steel, and concrete construction. Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings (plans, elevations, and sections). Familiar with the BC Building Code and the City of Vancouver Building Bylaw Parts 4 and 9. Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn from and work with other staff in the office

Structural Technician (Inspector)
We are looking for a full-time structural technician for field inspections to join our team at our Burnaby office. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing field reviews for our building related projects, under the supervision of project engineers. Drafting experience is an asset.
Starting salary is $72,000/year and will be based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include medical/dental allowance.
Job Responsibilities
Field inspections of structural work. Document site observations with hand-written and electronic reports and digital photography. Communicate with contractors, clients, and engineers regarding observations. Assist in drafting in AutoCAD and Revit.
Requirements
Minimum of Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience working in a structural engineering consulting firm or a construction environment. Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings (plans, elevations, and sections). Familiar with the BC Building Code and the City of Vancouver Building Bylaw Parts 4 and 9. Valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5) and clean ICBC driver’s abstract. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to learn from and work with other staff in the office. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
